Choosing who to work with
Look closely, ask before you assume, and make it easy for people to say no.
Look at the work
Start with the portfolio and how they describe their work. The best fit is often quiet: how they prepare and communicate can matter more than one striking photo.
A portfolio shows a style. It doesn't prove they're free, how big their audience is or what results you'll get. Write down what you still need to ask.
Ask, don't assume
Use your request to check timing, deliverables, usage, budget, travel, team and safety. Profiles marked as samples are examples, not real people.
Make no easy
A fair request leaves room for no, another date or a smaller job. If someone declines, don't keep following up. A like or a save isn't a yes.
