Build a portfolio people get at a glance
Pick, order and caption your work so the right person knows to reach out.
Decide what it's for
Before choosing photos, ask: after one minute, what should a visitor know? What you make, the role you usually play, and the kind of job you want next. Every photo should help answer that.
Open with one frame that shows your point of view. Follow with photos that each add something new: different light, scale, people or setting.
- One strong opening image.
- No near-duplicates.
- Your role named where it isn't obvious.
Add just enough context
A caption only needs the type of project, your part in it and whether it was a test, a personal project or a paid job. Credit everyone involved, and check you're allowed to post it.
Make reaching out easy
Answer the questions that would otherwise fill a first message: where you work, what projects you like, what you need to know before saying yes. A portfolio isn't a calendar, so leave dates and price for the conversation.
